Held every odd year, Sea Art Festival is an outdoor art exhibition, held on the southeastern tip of the Korean peninsula in Busan. It is a unique environmental art festival that makes use of the sea of Busan.
This year's theme is "Ars Ludens: Sea+Art+Fun," which is derived from two Latin words, "ars" (art) and "ludens" (playing). Through the theme, which roughly means “playful art,” the organizer wishes to ask, “Is art always serious and difficult to understand or is it amusing?” Only Sea Art Festival 2017 will tell.
